Greenburgh Public Library
The Greenburgh Public Library is a source for learning, literacy, discovery, and delight that enriches lives and strengthens our community.

Christina Ryan-Linder, Library Director

I selected the Greenburgh Public Library because they were seeking a photographer to take updated photos of their building. I was impressed with how heavily the library was being used. Most spaces in the library were occupied and people were actively reading, meeting in groups, or doing research. Due to its proximity to New York City with a diverse population, the Greenburgh community is considered urban. It faces similar issues the TriLi (New York Public, Brooklyn, and Queens) libraries encounter in the city. The staff at the library was wonderful. I enjoyed hearing Antonio Forte describe how graphic novels developed his love of reading.

The Greenburgh Public Library was granted its charter on August 24, 1962. The initial building was completed in 1968 with the renovation and expansion completed in 2009.
