Serving a diverse community in a dynamic environment where all people have the opportunity to thrive.
Vision Statement
The West Springfield Public Library is the location of my first exhibit of this project. I have worked previously with the director, Eileen Chapman. I always enjoy returning to Massachusetts, where I worked for eight years and met my wife.
This library is beautiful. In 1915, Andrew Carnegie gave the town of West Springfield $25,000 to establish the library. This initial structure, now the Carnegie Reading Room, was built in 1916 in the Italian Renaissance Revival Style. A wing was added in 1959 and another addition in 1978. In 2016, the current structure was completed, replacing the older additions while maintaining the old Carnegie building.
